I love everything about traveling (oh except for packing maybe). I love to work with travels, I love to plan travels, I love to talk about travels, I mostly love to actually travel and I love to blog about it after...
Most of us would probably agree that traveling is not such an unusual passion to have and I find that this is especially true when you are living as an expat. Since I moved to Shanghai in 2012 I've met so many like-minded people, people who in my opinion care about the "important stuff". People who dare to leave their comfort zones and stable everyday life in order to explore, see, meet, taste and feel this world on their own skin.
It's very special to live so far away from everything you've ever known and seen and still feel such a sense of belonging. In my situation, maybe not belonging specifically to Shanghai but belonging to this life as a modern nomad.
Travel News & Travel Massive in Shanghai
Shanghai is growing (oh yes one of the fastest growing cities on the planet) and so are the opportunities here. International companies and communities are popping up every week and not to speak of the start-ups aiming to create their success on this crazy market.
I'm really not the most up-to-date person in regards to the big news here (especially as I never read or watch the news, too disturbing for my sensitive mind=) but in regards to my passions such as yoga and traveling the small & big news usually come across to me pretty fast (especially thanks to Shanghaihabits!). So recently a little bird sang to me that Travel Massive, the renowned global community of travel industry insiders and passionate travelers is launching their Shanghai Chapter.
This is the first China Mainland chapter and awesome news for all people here with a passion for traveling, a career in the industry or both. I already became a member =)
Shanghai Travel Massive's first event will be this week Thursday May 14th and the topic is "the Future of Chinese Outbound Tourism". A free event where you can learn from the two guest speakers:
- Gary Bowerman (Author of The New Chinese Traveler: Business Opportunities from the Chinese Travel Revolution) and
- Ann Bierbower (China Skinny)
as well as network with travel professionals and travel addicts (like me!).
